The Arrupe Program is a Program of Social Formation for ALL students at St. Aloysius' College. We try to help each and every student become aware what it means to become men and women for others.
Social Formation is one of the trademarks of a Jesuit College and here at St. Aloysius' in Malta we are proud to say that over the years we have developed a sound program consisting of classes in social formation as well as various initiatives and opportunities for our students to take up a commitment in community service.
In the Sixth Form, all first-year students commit themselves for a year to render a service in an area of their choice, be it with children, young people, the elderly or abroad in Ireland, Egypt, Ethiopia or Bari. You may view some photos from last year's voluntary work here.
The curriculum ties community service to academic analysis of justice issues so students graduate with the ability to make life choices informed by the context of social justice. This year once again our students are participating in the Pedro Arrupe Award.
